We’re live from Birmingham, Alabama as SmackDown General Manager Daniel Bryan is in the ring. Fans chant “yes” while Mauro Ranallo welcomes us. He’s joined by David Otunga and JBL.

Bryan is in the ring with a contract signing setup. He hypes the SmackDown Women’s Title match at No Mercy and says tonight we will have the first-ever SmackDown Women’s Title contract signing. Bryan says we are going to keep this signing civil and fans boo. He tells them not to boo that. Bryan says this is a new era on SmackDown and that’s how it’s going to be. He introduces Becky Lynch first and out comes the Women’s Champion to a pop. Bryan reminds Becky that we’re keeping things civil tonight and she agrees. Bryan introduces #1 contender Alexa Bliss next.

They have words and Becky cuts a good promo on wanting the title more than Alexa. Becky says she will rip Alexa’s head off at No Mercy. Becky wasn’t born to be a champion, she fought to be a champion. Bliss mocks her, saying the speech was so inspirational. Bliss says Becky is destined for second place because Bliss was born to be a champion. Bliss says she’s going to take the title at No Mercy and expose Becky for what she is – a one-hit wonder. Bliss smacks her in the mouth with the contract and then signs it. Becky goes down. Bliss turns the table over on her. Bliss makes her exit talking trash but Becky comes from behind and attacks her. Bliss retreats and Becky goes back into the ring to sign the contract. Becky’s music hits and she leaves with the title in the air.

Resembling shades of last week when she controversially had an unfortunate “injury” right before her match against Becky Lynch began, this week Eva Marie had a wardrobe malfunction prior to squaring off with the Irish Lass Kicker that yet again called off the contest. #PrayForEva.

With Lynch yet again seeing red but unable to get her hands on her, she took to the microphone proclaiming she was ready to scrap with anyone … oh, Bliss.

Alexa Bliss answered the call, proving to be unflappable in the face of Lynch’s experience. The two Superstars went back and forth, yet it was Bliss who sparkled brightest in her SmackDown Live debut after Eva Marie returned to ringside “ready to compete,” distracting Lynch, allowing Bliss to capitalize, picking up the victory with Twisted Bliss.

Becky continues the assault, taking Natalya to the mat and continuing to dog her around the ring. Natalya bails to the floor to catch her breath before coming back into the ring and laying out Becky with a big forearm. Natalya turns her back on Becky and is taken out with a baseball slide before Becky leaps to the floor to take out Natalya. Becky gets frustrated as Natalya continues to run. While Natalya was supposed to face Alicia Fox, a sudden attack by Becky Lynch ended that before it started and quickly threw things into chaos! What will happen when things come full steam ahead at Battleground this Sunday? Better yet, now that both Becky and Natalya are on the brand, will we be seeing this feud continue on?

If there’s one thing that everyone can say about Becky Lynch, it’s that she’s a good teammate. Unfortunately, she has ended up getting the boot from almost every partner she’s had since coming to WWE, the most recent being Natalya’s sneak attack at WWE Money in the Bank.

Needless to say, Maiden Ireland is mad as hell. So mad, in fact, that instead of competing against scheduled opponent Summer Rae, The Irish Lass Kicker made a beeline for Nattie at ringside and commenced to lass kicking, pummeling The Queen of Harts until the referee managed to separate the two Superstars.
